Stress and Anxiety
Stress and anxiety cause chemical changes in the body that, left unchecked, can have negative effects on both mental and physical health. High levels of stress contribute to health issues as diverse as depression, insomnia, heart disease, skin disorders and headaches.

While stress and anxiety are normal, they can become excessive, unpleasant, problematic.
Stress is something we all experience at one time in our life. When life begins to feel unmanageable stress becomes anxiety and both become overwhelming, it is time to get help.
Anxiety is your body’s natural response to danger, an automatic alarm that goes off when you feel threatened, under pressure, or are facing a stressful situation. Anxiety has physical and emotional symptoms that an individual experiences to various degrees. Many individuals experience anxiety from situations they deem stressful such as going on a date, taking an exam, and meeting a deadline. Anxiety can be positive when it motivates us. It becomes a problem when it impairs and interferes with functions of our everyday life.

The mind and body are connected and influence each other. Thoughts lead to physical discomfort and feelings originating as sensations in the body will generate thoughts. It takes time to become attuned to these processes and I can help you know and accept yourself. As this happens, you will feel less overwhelmed by what you can and can’t control
It doesn’t take long to begin to experience some relief.
Eventually we’ll want to understand why you are predisposed to experiencing life through an anxious perspective, but first, we’ll focus on ways you can experience almost immediate relief from the discomfort that brought you to meet with me. There are also strategies that I will teach you so you can manage the cycle you can fall into where your thoughts are spinning and you can’t seem to find a way out.
